Title

LOCAL REGISTER LISTINGS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO REGISTER LISTING PROCESS

Body

SUMMARY

The Local Register Listings Committee of the Architectural and Preservation Commission of the City of Claremont will meet to review and finalize two draft documents: a Community Engagement Plan (Attachment A) and a Frequently Asked Questions document (Attachment B).  During the meeting, direction will be provided to finalize the draft documents as well as any additional comments that should be included in the Committee’s report to the full Commission.  The final documents will be forwarded to the full Commission for review and approval.  They will then be utilized by staff and the Commission to help inform and direct future research and outreach work related to the updating of the Claremont Register of Structures of Historical & Architectural Merit (Local Register).  Based on previous discussions, the Committee anticipates that this will be its final meeting before reporting back to the full Commission.

RECOMMENDATION

Recommended Action

Staff recommends the Architectural and Preservation Commission Local Register Listings Committee hear public comment, review the draft documents, provide direction on any final changes, and direct staff to prepare a report to the full Architectural and Preservation Commission that forwards the finalized documents as well as any additional comments, and recommends that the Local Register Listings Committee be dissolved as its work has been completed.
