ANALYSIS
The City of Claremont strives to promote community involvement and broad public interest in the development, aesthetics, and quality of life of the community. The Gifts to the City Policy facilitates this goal through the establishment of a uniform process by which gifts can be donated to the City.
Earlier this year, a representative of Claremont Sunrise Rotary reached out to the Community Services Department expressing interest in making a donation to facilitate installation of a drinking fountain in front of City Hall. Community Services Department staff investigated practical locations to install a drinking fountain in front of City Hall and selected a viable location close to the public art piece. The total cost to purchase and install the drinking fountain is $10,000, and Claremont Sunrise Rotary has committed to funding the project in full. The City thanks Claremont Sunrise Rotary for their gracious and generous donation.
