SUMMARY
Each year or as needed to fill vacant positions, new Commissioners are appointed by the City Council. The Community and Human Services Commission nominates and elects officers to the positions of Chair and Vice Chair.
RECOMMENDATION
Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission nominate and select a Chair and Vice Chair for the remainder of the 2023-24 term.

• Request additional information from staff and postpone nominations and selections to a subsequent meeting.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
This item does not have a direct financial impact. The staff cost to prepare this report is estimated at $550 and is included in the operating budget of the Community Services and Human Services Departments.
ANALYSIS
Commission Chair and Vice Chair
The Chair of the Community and Human Services Commission for this year has been Dirk Silva, and the Vice Chair is Deborah Scott Toux. The Chair is responsible for conducting the monthly Commission meetings and acts as the liaison between the City Council and the Commission. The Vice Chair fulfills the Chair’s responsibilities in his or her absence.
